Young Women Lead Conference

On March 9th the sophomore and junior girls from Palestine High School and other area schools will be going to Lincoln Trail College for a Young Women Lead Conference. During this conference there will be guest speakers there to talk about their experiences.

The main guest speaker for this year’s group is Amberly Snyder. Amberly is a Championship barrel racer who was left paralyzed from the waist down after a car accident when she was only 18. Doctors told her she would never walk again. This did not stop the determined women, though;it only pushed her more. She created a goal for herself and that was to “Walk. Ride. Rodeo.”

You can hear more about Snyder’s story at the Girls’ conference meeting next week, and if you can not make it, there is a movie out about her story called Walk. Ride. Rodeo. This movie is based on her story and the events that took place in her life to get her where she is now.  The Young Women Lead Conference is to help teen women to realize their worth and potential. It’s to show them that they are unstoppable when they put their minds to their goals and don’t let other people’s negativity, or their own get in the way of stopping them from their full potential.
