It’s that time of year again for the AMVETS annual chili cook off. It is open to the public so you don’t have to be a member to participate, so why not go if you want to join the fun. It is on Main Street in Palestine.

On Friday October 28th, you have to have be there with your chili on site by 5 p.m. The chili needs to be cooked and ready before you get there. People usually use a crock pot to keep it warm to serve for the judges. Then towards the end after every chili is tried everyone gets to feast. Afterwards there will be and annual bake sale auction to follow up after the chili cook off.

There is going to be live music there and it will be played by the band “Keepin it Simple.” They play from 8 to 11 p.m.
