October 1st marks our 19th annual Wabash Valley Wine and Art Festival, here at Palestine on main street from 11:30-6:30 on Saturday October 1st and 12-5 pm on Sunday October 2nd. Stroll up and down one of Illinois oldest main streets while sampling great Illinois wines, and enjoy fine arts and crafts from regional arts. This annual event has live music by “Just 1 More”, food vendors, homemade arts and crafts booths, and a car show. The festival is free but wine sampling tickets are 15 dollars if purchased in advance and 20 dollars at the festival. There will be 31 different vendors, 15 different wineries and 1 great weekend!

This year’s festival is welcoming many new vendors but one of the most popular is the Pour Vineyard, started in 2009 by Mike and Trudy Pour who created a vineyard in their backyard on land that was passed down over 150 years from generation to generation.

This festival isn’t just about the wine though; there is also “cruise in” on Sunday from 1 pm-4 pm held in the Harmon’s drug store parking lot where anyone can bring in a cool car and people walk through the parking lot and look at the interior and exteriors of all the cars, and usually sometime between 1 and 4 there will be some judging. There are also amazing food vendors where you can dine on things like BBQ, steak sandwiches, fries and so much more!
