Should books ever be banned?

Some very famous books have been banned in many schools around the world. Some of those include: The Great Gatsby, I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings, and To Kill a Mockingbird. I have read all three of these books, and I thought they were all pretty good. Take my word for it, I am not a huge reader.

Now, I understand that a lot of books may have some explicit material in them. However, I do not think any books should be banned from schools. There are a lot of books that teach valuable lessons that kids should learn about, but apparently some of the books kids should not read. When books are banned, it compromises children’s education and development all around the world. Books can give children a glimpse of a world far beyond the one they see every day. Who knows, maybe someday there will be no books at all.
