More students should consider participating in FFA because it is worth it. I know when I told people I was going to drive to Oblong everyday for one class, they thought I was crazy. This class is totally worth the drive. FFA is honestly one of my favorite classes I’m taking this year. The students and teachers are wonderful and so welcoming. I do see the downside to this, as it does get expensive to pay for gas, and is very timely, but this class is wonderful. You do not have to have an Ag background to take this class. We work on time management skills, teach younger children about animals and agriculture, sponsor an Ag Day every three years, and participate in community fundraisers. We also work on interview tips, as well as work on resumes that we can use for our future. I know it’s a long drive, but juniors and seniors next year interested in a new class should consider adding FFA to their schedule next year.
