In the world of One Piece this story starts 11 years ago on the Conomi Islands in the small village of Cocoyasi where life for the villagers was simple and peaceful. Children ran rampant, causing simple mischief. Even though they were`t rich in gold, the people of Cocoyasi Village were rich in spirit.
On a day like any other, the people of Cocoyasi Village were enjoying the simple life until The Arlong Pirates led by Arlong invaded, destroying a neighboring village and instilling fear into the people of Cocoyasi Village.
The Arlong Pirates took over Cocoyasi Village and forced the people to pay 100k for adults and 50k for any children a year in tribute, and if they didn`t pay this outrageous prices Arlong and his men would ban them from the server we like to call life, but one little girl spent 8 years of her life trying to muster 100 Million Berri to manage to buy her village from Arlong.
Now jumping to a little more than two years ago, a small band of young rookie Pirates known as the Straw Hats arrive at Cocoyasi Village with the intention of saving their crewmate Nami. After meeting Nami`s sister, Nojiko, the Straw Hats head to Arlong Park. After many fierce battles, the final clash between Arlong The Fishman and the captain of The Straw Hat Pirates, Monkey D Luffy, had been decided.
The smoke had cleared the once glamorous Arlong park was reduced to rubble, and on top of all that destruction, stood one man. That man was none other than Monkey D Luffy.
He had done what no other dreamed of; he had taken down Arlong and freed Cocoyasi Village.
